Geometric shapes in Detail
circle:
The circle is a geometric shape with no corner. Every single on the boundary of the circle has an equal distance to the opposite point. Every point on the circumference of the circle has an equal distance from the center point.
Triangle:
Triangle is a closed shape geometric figure. It has three corners and three sides. The sum of all the angles of a triangle is equal to 180. There are three types of triangles depending upon the sides: equilateral triangle, Isosceles triangle, and scalene triangle.
They are of three types depending on the angles: right angle triangle, acute angle triangle, and obtuse angle triangle.
Ellipse:
Oval is basically a circle but stretched to make an oval shape. Every circle is not an oval, basically, its shape is just like an egg of a hen.
Cube:
The cube is of the box shape. It has six squares and is a three-dimensional geometric figure.
Cylinder:
The cylinder is a figure having a circular cross-section and parallel sides. Every endpoint on the vertical walls of the cylinder has an equal distance from the center point.
Heptagon:
It is a closed figure with seven straight sides and equal angles.
Kite:
A kite is a geometric shape with two equal sides and their edges are opposite to each other.
Trapezium:
It has a different name in the UK (Trapezoid), it is one of the most complex shapes with no equal side or angle. All the side lengths and angles are different in the trapezoid.
The Square:
Square is a geometric shape with four equal sides. All the angles in a square must be equal to 90 degrees.
Rectangle:
In rectangle, the length of opposite sides is equal as well as their angles. All the inside angles in a rectangle are equal to 90 degrees.
Parallelogram:
It is any figure with opposite sides equal to each other in length. It is a closed figure with four sides.
Rhombus:
It is a geometric shape with four sides, length of all the four sides are equal but the angles may not be equal to each other.
Octagon:
It is a geometric shape with six equal sides.
Arrow:
This is an important geometric shape with an open triangular head. It is used to show direction.
