Types of Pronoun PDF
There are different types of pronoun in English grammar all of these kinds of pronoun are described below.
Personal pronoun (I, we, he, she, it, etc.)
Reflexive pronoun (Myself, ourselves, themselves etc.)
Possessive Pronoun (Yours, mine, hers, theirs etc.)
Indefinite Pronoun (one, none, all, some etc.)
Relative pronoun (who, whom, which, that, whose etc.)
Demonstrative pronoun (this, that, these, those etc.)
Reciprocal pronoun (each, either, none etc.)
Exclamatory pronoun (what!)
Distributive pronoun (each, either, everyone, neither)
Interrogative pronoun (who, whose, whom etc.)
A personal pronoun is used for the name of a person or a thing. For example, I, we, you, they, he, she, it, us, my, yours etc.
The persons of personal pronoun are:
First person (I, we, us, me, our)
Second Person (you, your)
Third Person (he, she, it, they, him, her, his, them, their, its)
He is my friend.
This is a black cat.
This is our home.
They are eating apples.
She likes me.
When the action done by the subject reflects upon the subject, it is called reflexive pronoun.
For example: myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves etc.
Note. Reflexive pronouns are made by adding –self to the end of the personal pronoun. яндекс
They enjoyed themselves.
I will do it myself.
You will hurt yourself.
She herself says so.
The village itself is not very small.
These pronouns refer to the people, places and things not in particular but in general way.
For example: any, all, some, many, few, none, somebody, several, both are called indefinite pronoun.
There is some milk in the jug.
Is anybody there?
Everyone is talking.
A few are going to abroad.
There are many flowers in the basket.
A relative pronoun is a word that works as a contact in the sentence.
Some relative pronouns are: who, whose, whom, which etc.
Note. Who and whose are used for persons.
Which and that are used for things.
He is the boy who kicked me.
This is the car which I want to buy.
This is the pen that I bought yesterday.
The moment which is lost is lost forever.
These are the boys whom all praise.
